House of the Dragon
HBO Original House of the Dragon, the 10-episode prequel to Game of Thrones is coming to HBO on August 21. Game of Thrones took the world by storm from 2011 to 2019, with over 160 Emmy nominations and 19.3 million viewers during the season finale, breaking HBO viewership records. The new show is based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood”, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen. The series stars Emmy nominated Matt Smith, as well as Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, and Emma D’Arcy. Showrunners are Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik; Sapochnik has a history with Game of Thrones, previously directing six Game of Thrones episodes, including the Emmy winning “Battle of the Bastards”.
